ratification of their sales and a conveyance to them of the
property purchased, without further delay; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Charles A. Hodges, Deputy Treasurer of Anne
Arundel County, be, and he is hereby authorized to make
reports of sale and execute all other papers and deeds and
complete conveyance to the purchasers thereof of all prop-
erty sold at tax sale by the late Dr. Alfred H. Perrie, as fully
in every respect as the said Dr. Alfred H. Perrie could have
done had he lived.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety, and the
same being passed upon a yea and nay vote supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, shall take effect upon the
date of its passage.

CHAPTER 280.

AN ACT to increase the salary of the Court Stenographer
of the Second Judicial Circuit of Maryland, and direct
the time of paying the same.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the salary of the Court Stenographer of the Sec-
ond Judicial Circuit of Maryland be, and the same is hereby
increased in the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars an-
nually ; of which said sum the Counties of Cecil, Kent, Queen
Anne's, Caroline and Talbot shall each pay fifty dollars, be-
ginning on the first day of June, 1920; said payments to be
made in monthly installments.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the increase pro-
vided for in Section 1 of this Act shall be payable only to a
person who has served as a Court Stenographer for at least
five years.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall be
in true force and effect only to and including May 31, 1932.
