CHAPTER 224.

AN ACT to provide for the appointment of a "Deputy
County Treasurer for Queen Anne's County" by the
County Treasurer for Queen Anne's County and to pro-
vide for the payment of an annual salary to such
"Deputy County Treasurer for Queen Anne's County"
out of the funds of said Queen Anne's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Treasurer for Queen Anne's County
be and he is hereby authorized to appoint an assistant or clerk
whose official title shall be that of "Deputy County Treasurer
for Queen Anne's County," who shall hold the said office at
the will of the County Treasurer for Queen Anne's County
and who shall perform such duties as the County Treasurer
shall require of such "Deputy County Treasurer for Queen
Anne's County."

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the "Deputy County Treasurer for
Queen Anne's County" shall receive as compensation for his
or her services an annual salary of nine hundred dollars to be
paid in monthly instalments of seventy-five dollars each pay-
able on the last day of each month out of the funds of said
Queen Anne's County hereby directed to be levied annually
for that purpose.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That said "Deputy County Treasurer for
Queen Anne's County" shall execute to the County Treasurer
a bond in the penalty of two thousand dollars conditioned for
the faithful performance of the duties of said office and to
faithfully account for all funds that may come into the hands
of said "Deputy County Treasurer for Queen Anne's
County."

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is an
emergency law necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public health or safety and the same shall take effect from
the date of its passage.
