CHAPTER 206.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 59 of the Annotated
Code of Public General Laws, title "Lunatics and
Insane," sub-title "Lunacy Commission,'' said section to
come in after Section 45, and to be known as Section
45-A, and to provide for the transfer of insane, lunatic or
feeble-minded persons in this State, who are citizens or.
residents of other States to such States, and the transfer
to this State of insane, lunatic or feeble-minded persons in
other States who are citizens or residents of this State.

SECTION ]. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
hind. That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 59 of the Annotated Code of Public General Laws,
title "Lunatics and Insane," sub-title "Lunacy Commission,"
said section to come in after Section 45 of said Article, to be
known as Section 45-A, and to read as follows:

45-A. The Lunacy Commission shall have power and
authority to maake arrangements with similar bodies in other
States, whereby insane, lunatic or feeble-minded persons who
are being cared for at public expense in any asylum or insti-
tution for the care of the insane in this State (other than per-
sons who shall have been transferred thereto from penal insti-
tutions, and the terms of whose sentences to such penal insti-
tutions shall not have expired), and who are citizens or resi-
dents of such other States, may be transferred at the expense
of this State to similar institutions in such other States, and
whereby insane, lunatic or feeble-minded persons who are
being cared for at public expense in such asylums or institu-
tions of other States (other than persons who shall have been
transferred from penal institutions, and the terms of whose
sentences to such penal institutions shall not have expired)
and who are citizens or residents of this State, may be trans-
ferred at the expense of such other States to similar institu-
tions in this State, provided that nothing in this section con-
tained shall prevent the Board of Supervisors of City Chari-
ties of Baltimore City from making such arrangements for the
return to other places in the United States of insane persons
found in Baltimore City who are residents of such other places,
and for the return to Baltimore City of insane persons resi-
dent therein, who may be found in other places in the United
States, as said Board of Supervisors have made or may here-
