trict, and to inscribe the same on the new registration books
of said new election district; and when said clerk shall have
erased from the old books and inscribed in the new books
the names of the voters who are entitled to register only
in the said new election district in all cases of erasure the
said clerk shall draw a line in red ink through the names thus
erased or transferred, and under the heading "Remarks" on
said old registries shall enter the words "Transferred by
formation of new district," and the said Supervisors of Elec-
tions are hereby required to deliver said new registries to tin-
registers of voters to be appointed for said new district at
the same time that other registration books are required by
law to be delivered. For his services in transferring said
names from the old districts to said new district the said clerk
shall receive the sum of one hundred ($100.00) dollars, to be
paid by the County Commissioners of Washington County
on the certificate and order of the said Supervisors of
Elections.
SECTION 5. And be it enacted, That the said Supervisors of
Elections shall publish in two newspapers of general circula-
tion in Washington County, at least two weeks before the first
session of the registers of voter's of Washington County iu
the year 1920 a list of all names erased from the old registries
and inscribed on the new, so that any person whose name has
been improperly erased from the old registries and inscribed
on the new may have ample opportunity to appear before the
registers of voters at their sessions and have the proper cor-
rections made.
SECTION 6. And be it enacted, That the Governor of the
State of Maryland and the County Commissioners of Washing-
ton County are hereby authorized and empowered, respec-
tively, to make appointments of Justices of the Peace and
Constables for said new election district as are now authorized
by law for the other election districts of said Washington
County.
SECTION 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
