directed to include a sum not to exceed three hundred dollars,
to be used, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to pay for
subsequent examinations, audits, accounts and reports herein
provided for.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 137.
AN ACT to exempt from county and municipal taxation cer-
tain coupon bonds issued by the Washington County
Water Company prior to the purchase of its plant by the
Mayor and Council of Hagerstown, said amount being
three hundred, and-forty-five thousand dollars, and which
said bonds were assumed by the Mayor and Council of
Hagerstown as part payment of the purchase money for
said plant of the Washington County Water Company
under the provisions of Chapter 58 of the Acts of Mary-
land, 1918.
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, By Chapter 58 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, 1918, the Mayor and Council
of Hagerstown was duly authorized and empowered to pur-
chase the entire plant of the Washington County Water Com-
pany, and which said plant under said provision of said Act
was purchased by the said Mayor and Council as provided by
said Act of Assembly, and
WHEREAS, The Mayor and Council of Hagerstown did by
virtue of said Act of Assembly, and in accordance therewith,
assume the payment of certain bonds, and the interest there-
on, as part of the consideration for said plant, the said bonds
to the amount of said three hundred and forty-five thousand
dollars, which is a lien on said plant said bonds not being due
pnd payable until the first day of January, 1957, and
WHEREAS, The bonds issued by the Mayor and Council un-
der said Act of Assembly the proceeds whereof were used
to pay the balance of the purchase money for said plant, are
by said Act of Assembly, exempt from county and municipal
taxation, and
