CHAPTER 134.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 183
of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Talbot County," sub-title "St. Michaels,"
as enacted by Chapter 191 of the Acts of 1918.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 183 of Article 2 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County," sub-title
"St. Michaels," as enacted by Chapter 191 of the Acts of
1908 be. and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments to read as follows:
183. The Commissioners of the town of St. Michaels shall
have full power and authority to levy on all property, real,
personal and mixed, of all kinds and descriptions whatsoever,
within the corporate limits of said town provided for in an
Act passed by the General Assembly of Maryland at the Ses-
sion of 1908. a sum not exceeding one dollar and fifty cents
on every one hundred dollars' worth of property in any one
year, and in the same proportion upon any greater or smaller
share of property, after a just and fair assessment and valua-
tion by such suitable and discreet person or persons, acting
under, oath and by said Commissioners appointed, the said as-
sessment and valuation to be returned annually between the
first day of May and the fifteenth, day of June, if deemed
necessary by said Commissioners; provided, however, that
the tax of not exceeding twenty cents on each one hundred
dollars' worth of property in any one year, for the purpose
of providing for the interest and for creating the sinking
fund contemplated in the Act of the Assembly, Chapter 113,
passed at the Session of 1900, shall not be assessed, levied and
collected on the property within the additional limits of said
town provided for in Section 176, as amended by the Act of
the General Assembly of Maryland as raised in the Session
of 1908, or any part thereof; provided, however, that when-
ever the Commissioners of St. Michaels shall extend the water
mains so as to furnish water facilities to the citizens of any
part of the additional limits, there and thereafter the water
tax of twenty cents on each one hundred dollars' worth of
property herein referred to, shall be assessed and collected on
the property located in that portion of the additional limits
so provided with water mains.
