preservation of the public health and safety, and being passed
upon a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the
members ejected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly the same shall take effect from the date of its pass-
age.

CHAPTER 96.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 373
of Article IV of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "City of Baltimore," relating to the salaries
of the Criers of the Superior Court of Baltimore City, the
Baltimore City Court and the Court of Common Pleas of
Baltimore City.

SECTION-1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 373 of Article IV of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "City of Baltimore," relating
to the salaries of the criers of the Superior Court of Baltimore
City, the Baltimore City Court and the Court of Common
Pleas of Baltimore City be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:

SECTION-373. The City Register shall pay to the crier of
the Superior Court of Baltimore City, the crier of the Balti-
more City Court and the crier of the Court of Common Pleas
of Baltimore City the sum of two thousand dollars per an-
num in monthly instalments of one hundred and sixty-six and
two-thirds dollars at the end of each and every mouth, as and
for their respective salaries on the certificates of said Clerks
of the said Courts that said criers have performed their duties
as criers of said Courts for the time so certified by said Clerks.
