with such other suggestions on the subject as he may deem
expedient, and in furtherance of the object of these resolu-
tions, and that the Governor of Maryland shall also designate
the said day as the annual thanksgiving day for the State of
Maryland.

AND BE IT RESOLVED, That whenever the eleventh day of
November shall fall on Sunday, the Governor shall on such
years designate the Monday next following as the day for the
observance of Armistice and Thanksgiving Days and all laws
relating to the other State holidays shall likewise apply to
this clay and to the eleventh of November when it falls on.
any other day than Sunday.

AND BE IT RESOLVED, That this resolution shall take effect
immediately.

JOINT RESOLUTION authorizing and requesting the Gov-
ernor to appoint a Commission of five persons to investi-
gate, revise and prepare the Industrial and Welfare Laws;
and recommend such other legislation essential to bring
about a more harmonious condition between employer
and employee, and to provide for the expense of such a
Commission, to report to the Legislature of 1922.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland as
follows :

SECTION 1. That the Governor be, and he is hereby
authorized and requested to appoint a Commission to investi-
gate, revise and prepare the Industrial and Welfare Laws
of this State and to recommend such other legislation essen-
tial to bring about a more harmonious condition between
employer and employee; the said Commission to be composed
of five members, all of whom shall be citizens of this State
and one of whom shall be a manufacturer, one of whom shall
be a merchant, one of whom shall be a mine operator or a
contractor, one of whom shall be a member of some Labor
organization, and one of whom shall be a representative
citizen of the State of Maryland, representing the general
public.
