CHAPTER 732.

AN ACT to declare the sanction and consent of the General
Assembly of Maryland to sundry gifts, bequests and de-
vises contained in the last wills and testaments of certain
persons, deceased, and also to certain gifts, grants, sales,
leases and deeds made by various persons to and for the
use and benefit of sundry ministerial persons, religious;
corporations, vestries, educational and charitable institu-
tions, churches, denominations or sects hereinafter named.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sanction and consent of said General Assembly
of Maryland be and the same is hereby declared, given and
granted to the following gifts, bequests, devises, grants, sales,
leases, conveyances and deeds, to and from certain persons and
bodies corporate to and for the use of certain ministerial per-
sons, religious and educational corporations, orders, denomina-
tions and sects, and to. certain charitable institutions herein-
after named and as herein set forth :

(1) To the sale and conveyance by Margaret S. Caldwell
and others, heirs at law of David W. Sloan, deceased, to the
Trustees of the Presbyterian Congregation of Allegany Coun-
ty, a religious corporation, of a lot of ground and improve-
ments thereon, described in a deed from said grantors to the
said grantee, dated October 24, 1919, and recorded in Liber-
No. 129, folio 568 of the Lands Records of Allegany County.

(2) To the following bequests contained in the last will
and testament and codicil thereto of Emily Smallwood, de-
ceased, which will and codicil was duly admitted to probate by
the Orphans' Court of Baltimore City on April 24, 1918:

(a) The sum of two thousand dollars to the Protestant
Episcopal Church Council of the Diocese of Texas, a body cor-
porate, for the maintenance and support of the Episcopal
Church at Jacksonville, Texas.

(b) The sum of one thousand dollars to the Convention of
the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Diocese of Maryland,
for the use of the trustees of the Cathedral Foundation

(c) To the bequest of the crayon portrait of the said Emily
Smallwood's husband to the Vestry of the Protestant Episco-
pal Church of the Ascension of Baltimore, Maryland, its suc-
cessors and assigns.
