said town who are qualified under this Act that there will be
held on said day at a certain place and between certain hours
an election to determine whether said citizens shall adopt this
charter. The said committee shall provide ballot boxes, booths
and ballots, which shall contain the words "For Incorpora-
tion" on one line and "Against Incorporation" on another
line, with squares opposite each. Said election shall be con-
ducted as nearly as practicable as an election for county offi-
cers in said county. Said committee shall appoint three judges
and two clerks, or they may themselves serve as judges and
appoint two clerks, who shall conduct said election and upon
the closing of said polls shall canvass said vote publicly and
publicly announce the result of said canvass. In the event of
a majority of said voters being for incorporation this char-
ter shall become immediately operative and thereupon the
same committee shall en the first Monday in the succeeding
month after the aforesaid election hold an election for the
Mayor and Common Council and other elective officers as
hereinbefore provided for. The three Council men receiving
the highest number of votes shall serve until the first Monday
in Jane, 1922, and until his or their successor or successors
shall qualify ; and the two receiving the next highest number of
votes shall serve until the first Monday in June, 1921, and
until his or their successor or successors shall qualify, and
thereafter their successors shall be elected for the full term
of two years. At the aforesaid first election for elective offi-
cers the treasurer who shall be then elected shall serve until the
first Monday in June, 1922, and thereafter his successor shall
be elected for the full term of two years.

For the purpose of election to determine whether or not
the corporate powers hereinbefore mentioned shall be granted
to the citizens of Riverdale. all male citizens above the age
of twenty-one years who shall have for one year next pre-
ceding such election resided within the corporate limits here-
inbefore set forth in Section 2 hereof shall be qualified to
vote, and the committee above named shall have power to
appoint two of it's members for the purpose of registration
of said voters and who shall have for this purpose all the
powers of registration officers for any election in Prince
George 's County.
