of the said Fire Department shall be entitled to annual vaca-
tion of fifteen days with pay, the Chief of the Fire Depart-
ment to determine the times of vacation of the members.
SECTION 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the first day of June, 1920.

CHAPTER 77.
AN ACT to add one new section to Article 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Allegany
County," said section to be known as Section 216-U,
under the sub-title of "County Commissioners and
Roads," giving power to the Road Directors for Allegany
County to pay extra compensation in the discretion of
said Board to the Roads Engineer for Allegany County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, Tha.t one new section be and it is hereby added to Arti-
cle 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Allegany
County," such section to be known as Section 216-U, under
the sub-title of "County Commissioners and Roads," and to
read as follows:
SECTION 216-U. In addition to the salary provided by Sec-
tion 216-D the Roads Engineer for Allegany County shall be
entitled to receive such extra compensation or salary as may
be determined by the Road Directors for Allegany County,
not to exceed, however, the sum of $1,200.00 per annum in
addition to the salary provided by Section 216-D, if the said
Board of Road Directors for Allegany County shall deem it
necessary and proper to pay the said Roads Engineer any
extra salary or compensation, the amount of said extra com-
pensation or salary as above mentioned and the time and
method of its payment to be determined by the said Board of
Road Directors for Allegany County, and if made shall be in-
cluded among the costs of the building and repairing of roads
in said county.
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect June
1, 1920.
