CHAPTER 75.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 187
of Offutt's Code of the Public Local Laws of Baltimore
County published in 1916 so as to increase the compen-
sation of the judges and clerks of election in said county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 187 of Offutt's Code of Public Local Laws
of Baltimore County, published in 1916, be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to
read as follows, that is to say:

SECTION 187. The Judges and Clerks of Election in said
county shall receive six dollars a day while acting as such;
the return Judges who reside over ten miles from the Court
House shall be entitled to two days' extra pay, and other
return Judges to one day's extra pay.

Approved April 16, 1920.

CHAPTER 76.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Allegany
County," sub-title "Cumberland," said new section to be
known as 116A, and to follow immediately after Section
116 of said Article, providing for a two platoon system in
the Fire Department of the City of Cumberland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Allegany County,"
sub-title "Cumberland," said new section to "be known as
116A, to follow immediately after Section 116 of said Arti-
cle, and to read as follows:

116A. The Police and Fire Commissioner. with the sanc-
tion of the Mayor and City Council, shall have power to
organize the Fire Department of the City of Cumberland on
the basis of a two platoon system, with the hours of duty of
each of said platoons to be prescribed by the Mayor and City
Council, who shall have the power to prescribe the rules and
regulations for the shifting of said platoons. Each member
