be made out of any money paid by the clerks of the several
Courts of Baltimore City into the State Treasury, and on the
certificate of some one of the judges of the Supreme Bench
of Baltimore City that sueh trust clerk has performed his
duties for the time so certified by said judge; the clerk of
the Circuit Court of Baltimore and of the Circuit Court No. 2
of Baltimore City be and they are hereby authorized and di-
rected to appoint a chief clerk for each of their respective
Courts, said appointment to be subject to confirmation by the
Supreme Bench of Baltimore City; and when said appoint-
ments have been so made and confirmed the Comptroller of
the State of Maryland be and he is hereby directed to draw
two warrants upon the State Treasurer, each for the payment
of the sum of three thousand dollars per annum in each and
every year in monthly installments of two hundred and fifty
dollars at the end of each and every month for the compensa-
tion of each of the two clerks so appointed and confirmed.

CHAPTER 71.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 93 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Testamentary
Law," sub-title "Orphans' Court," to follow Section 231
of said Article 93, to be known as Section 231-A and pro-
viding for an increase in the per diem of the judges of
the Orphan's Court of Baltimore City and fixing the
hours of the sessions of said Court.

SECTJON 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 93 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
title "Testamentary Law," sub-title "Orphans' Court," to
follow Section 231 of said Article 93, to be known as Section
231-A. and to read as follows:

SECTION 231-A. The judges of the Orphans' Court of
Baltimore City shall each receive thirteen dollars for every
day's attendance upon the sessions of said Orphans' Court
of Baltimore City, to be paid by the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore at the end of each and every month, and the
sessions of said Orphans' Court of Baltimore City shall con-
