SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the proceeds of the
sale of said bonds shall be used for the purchase of fire ap-
paratus and equipment and for fire protection generally, in-
cluding the erection of a building, all as in the judgment of
said Mayor and Commissioners may seem advisable.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor and
Commissioners of the Town of Barton be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to levy annually on the taxable prop-
erty of said town a sum of money sufficient to pay the interest
on said bonds and to redeem said bonds as they mature and
become payable, and said taxes shall be collected in like man-
ner as other taxes in said town, and when collected shall be
applied to the payment of the interest on said bonds and to
the redemption of said bonds as they mature and become
payable.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That until the bonds
authorized by this Act have matured and been paid, the tax
rate of the town of Barton shall be seventy-five cents (75c)
instead of fifty cents (50c), as provided in the charter of said
town; provided, however, that when the last of said bonds
shall have matured and been paid, the tax rate shall again
be fifty cents (50c), as provided in said charter.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That the question of issu-
ing said bonds shall be submitted to the qualified voters of the
town of Barton at the town election to be held in June, 3920,
and upon each ballot there shall be printed the words "For
Bond Issue," and "Against Bond Issue." If a majority of
those voting thereon shall be in favor of issuing the bonds,
then the bonds may be issued in accordance with the provisions
of this Act, but if a majority shall be against issuing said
bonds, then the bonds shall not be issued and this Act shall
be null and void.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety, and being passed
upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of jts
passage.
