SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
68 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title
"Notary Public," to follow immediately after Section 11, to
be known as Section 12; and to read as follows:

12. It shall be lawful for any notary public who is a stock-
holder, director, officer or employee of a bank or other corpora-
tion to take the acknowledgment of any party to any written
instrument executed to or by such corporation, or to admin-
ister an oath to any other stockholder, director, officer, em-
ployee or agent of such corporation, or to protest for non-
acceptance or non-payment bills of exchange, drafts, checks,
notes and other negotiable instruments which may be owned or
held for collection of such corporation; Provided, it shall be
unlawful for any notary public to take the acknowledgment
of an instrument by or to a bank or other corporation of which
he is a stockholder, director, officer, or employee, where such
notary is a party to such instrument, either individually or as
a representative of such corporation, or to protest any
negotiable instrument owned or held for collection by such cor-
poration, where such notary is individually a party, to such
instrument.

SECTION 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 650.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Crimes and Punishments." to
be under sub-title "Fraud—Poultry," to be known as
Section 184-A, and to follow immediately after Section
184 of said Article, making it unlawful to sell or offer
for sale poultry soaked in water.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Crimes and
Punishments," to be under sub-title "Fraud—Poultry," to be
known as Section 184-A, to follow immediately after Section
184 of said Article, and to read as follows :
