as hereinbefore provided shall be, iu the discretion of the
Justice before whom said case originates.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all Acts or parts of Acts.
General or Local, in conflict with the provisions of this Act
arc hereby repealed in so far as they are inconsistent herewith.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from and after June 1st, 1920.

CHAPTER 648.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 17
of Article 97 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title
"Weights and Measures," by eliminating certain irregu-
lar and short measures and providing penalties for having
possession of such measures.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 17 of Article 97 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title "Weights and Measures," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:
17. Any person, firm or corporation, or agent, employee or
officer of any person, firm or corporation, having in his, her
or its possession for use for the packing or repacking of the
berries, fruits, nuts and other articles designated in the six-
teenth section of this Article, grown in this State or elsewhere,
a berry box or basket of less capacity than that designated in
Section sixteen, shall on conviction be fined not less than
twenty dollars nor more than fifty dollars for each offense;
and the possession for use, or use of each such berry box or
basket shall constitute a separate offense.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 649.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 68 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Notary Pub-
lic," to follow immediately Section 11, and to be known
as Section 12.
