incorporate the Eastern Maryland District Meeting of the
German Baptist Brethren," be. and the same is hereby, re-
pealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Ephraim W. Stoner, Samuel H. Utz, Thomas J.
Kolb, Uriah Bixler and William M. Wine, and their succes-
sors duly elected in the manner hereinafter directed, be and
they are hereby made, declared and constituted a body corpo-
rate, to have perpetual succession by the name and style and
title of "The Eastern Maryland District Meeting of the
Church of the Brethren," and by that name, style and title,
are hereby made, and declared able and capable in law to
take, receive, hold, possess and acquire by gift, devise, be-
quest, grant or otherwise, land, tenements, goods, chattels,
estates and property of any kind whatsoever and the same
again to grant, devise, alien or dispose of.

CHAPTER 629.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners
of Calvert County to levy a .sum of money, for the erec-
tion and construction of a suitable memorial, to the
soldiers and sailors from Calvert County, who partici-
pated in the recent World-wide War, and to locate it at
Prince Frederick, Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of County Commissioners of Cal-
vert County are hereby authorixed and directed to levy on
the assessable property of Calvert County at the next annual
levy after the passage of this Act, or at any subsequent levy
thereof, the sum of five thousand dollars for the purpose of
erecting and constructing a suitable memorial to the soldiers
and sailors from Calvert County, who participated in the
recent World-wide War, and the said sum or so much there-
of as may be necessary shall be applied and for that purpose
shall be paid to the Memorial Committee heretofore appointed
by the County Commissioners of said County, for the erec-
tion and construction of the memorial aforesaid.
