CONSTITUTION &c.— So much of the 37th art. of the
constitution as disqualifies senators and
delegates from holding any office of profit
during the time for which he shall be



elected, repealed,
No senator or delegate shall during the
time for which he was electcd, be appoin-
ted to any civil office under the constitu-
tion or laws of this state, which shall
have been created, or the emoluments

thereof increased during such time,
No senator, or delegate shall be eligi-
ble, during the time he shall continue to

act as such, to any civil office whatever,
At the election for delegates to the
General Assembly for 1838 and annually
until after the next census shall be offi-
cially promulgcd, the number of delegates
to be elected from the cities of Baltimore
and Annapolis and each of the several



counties prescribed,
From the census of 1840, and every
second census thereafter, the representa-
tion in the house of delegates shall be

graduated on the following basis:
Every county having less than 15000
souls, federal numbers, shall have three

delegates,
having 15000, and less than 25000,

"

"

four delegates,
having 25000 and less than $5000,

"

"

five delegates,
having over $7000 souls, six dele-

"

"

gates,
The city of Baltimore shall be entitled
to elect as many delegates, as the county
which shall have the largest representa-

"

"

tion on the basis aforesaid,
But no county to have at any time a
less delegation than is allowed by the 9th



section of this act.
The General Assembly shall have
power from time to time to regulate the
