SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That instead of the
amount required to be paid in and certified to the Trea-
surer of the Western Shore before the said bank can go
into operation, under the eighth article of the sixteenth
section of the original charter, there shall be paid to
and be in possession of the president and directors of
said bank as part of the subscription aforesaid of five
thousand shares, the sum of one hundred thousand dol-
lars in gold and silver coin.

Repeal

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That so much of the ori-
ginal act as is inconsistent with or repugnant to this
act, be and the same is hereby repealed.

An act to authorise the building of a Bridge therein men-
tioned in St. Mary's County.
|

Levy authorised
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Justices of the Levy Court of St.
Mary's County shall and may at any time within two
years from the passage of this act, levy upon the tax-
able property in said county, a sum of money not ex-
ceeding one. hundred dollars, for the purpose of build-
ing a bridge over a stream known as the head waters
of St. Clement's Bay in said county, where the road
leading from St. Joseph's Chapel to Chaptico, crosses
the said stream.

Bridge built.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the justices afore-
said shall as conveniently as may be, cause a Bridge
to be erected over the said stream at the place afore-
said, in such manner as the said justices shall think
most advantageous to the public, and the sum of money
so as aforesaid to be levied, or as much thereof as may
be necessary for the purpose, shall be applied to the
payment of the expense of erecting said bridge.
