ignate by such name, as they may deem proper, a cer-
tain Alley about ten feet in width, in the city of Balti-
more, running from Mott to Monument street, near to
Gay and Sterling streets, on application of a majority
of the property holders binding on said alley.

CHAP. 34.
|
|

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the said alley to
be condemned and made public as aforesaid, shall be
and is hereby made subject from time to time, when so
condemned and made public by ordinance, to the oper-
ation of the laws and ordinances relating to public
streets, lanes and alleys in the city of Baltimore:

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, before they finally pass upon,
any ordinance authorised by this act, shall first cause
an advertisement to be published in the daily papers of
the city of Baltimore, the expense of said advertise-
ment to be paid by the party or parties applying for
the passage of said ordinance, setting forth the said al-
ley and its location, and notifying all persons interes-
ted to make their objections if any they have to the
passage of said ordinance, on or before some day to be
fixed by the Mayor and City Council aforesaid.'

An act supplemental to an act, entitled, an act, for the
relief of the heirs of Jane White, late of the city of
Baltimore.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Richard Lemmon, Robert Barry and
James Cheston, of the city of Baltimore, be, and they
are hereby appointed commissioners, in lieu of those
named in the original act, to which this is a supplement,
with power and authority to execute the provisions of
the said original act, so far as any duty is imposed
upon commissioners thereby, as early as practicable
after the passage of this act

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in case of the death,
removal or refusal to act in. the premises of the above
named commissioners or cither of them, it shall be the
duty of the Governor, as in ordinary cases of civil ap-
