LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 181.

person who shall receive the next highest number of
votes for said office, if he shall be commissioned to act
as sheriff, shall give like bond within thirty days from
he date, of his commission, and shall not be qualified
o act as such before the execution rf said bond; and
hat any person who may be commissioned to execute
the office of sheriff for Carroll county, for the residue
of said term, shall before he acts as such, give like
bond within thirty days from the date of his commis-
sion, which said bond or bonds shall be kept by the
person or persons before whom the same may be taken,
until the same can be delivered by the said person or
persons, to the clerk of Carroll county, to whom the
said person or persons shall deliver the said bond, as
soon as is practicable, after the execution thereof, to be

by him recorded; which said bond or bonds shall, in
all and every respect, be on the same footing as the
sheriffs' bonds of other counties.

Notice of elec-
tion

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the Governor shall
give such notice of the time of holding said clectioii, as
he may deem proper, by proclamation; and also shall
and may give notice, to the said judges of election in
any manner he may deem right and proper, of their
appointment under this law.

Oath of office

SEC. S. And be it enacted. That the said judges of
election, mentioned in the first section hereof, shall
severally qualify before they act as such, by taking
the oath now prescribed by the constitution and laws
of this State, before the same persons, and in the same
manner as the judges of election in this State are re-
quired to do.


CHAPTER 181.

1837

An act for building a Bridge over Deer Creek, at or near
William Pyle's Saw-Mill, in Harford County.

Commissioners

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That William Pyle, Joseph Parker, and
John Robinson, of Joseph, be, and they are hereby ap-
pointed commissioners, to fix upon a site for a bridge
over Deer Creek at or near William Pyles' Saw-Mill,
