sembly at the first session after such new election, as
the Constitution and Form of Government of this State
directs, in such case, this act and the alterations to the
Constitution therein contained, shall constitute and he
valid as a part of said Constitution and Form of Gov-
ernment to all intents 'and purposes, any thing there-
in contained to the contrary notwithstanding.

If confirmed

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That if this act shall be con-
firmed according to the provisions of the Constitution
and Form of Government, in that case made and pro-

to lay off

vided, then shall Lewis Zeigler, John Byer and Jacob
Bell, be, and they are hereby appointed commission-
ers to view, create, lay off, locate and establish an
additional election district in the county aforesaid,
out of the third and the seventh election districts
in said county, and the said commissioners or a ma-

jority of them, shalf make a return of all their pro-
ceedings to Washington county court, to be there re-
|
|
|

corded at the expense of the county, and paid as coun-
ty charges are levied and paid, and the commissioners
of Washington county are hereby authorised and di-

Vacancy

rected, in case of the death, resignation, refusal or
failure to act, on the part of the within named commis-
sioners to appoint such others as they in their dis-
cretion may think proper, to fill said vacancy or va-
cancies.

Compensation
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
herein authorised to be appointed, shall be entitled to
receive such compensation for their services as the
commissioners of Washington county may deem rea-
sonable, not exceeding the sum of two dollars per day
for every day they shall be necessarily employed in
the discharge of the duties required by this act.
