SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Martin Rizen. Walter Selby, and
Levi Dawson, be, and they are hereby appointed com-
missioners to locate and open a road in Allegany coun-
ty, to commence on William's Location at the most
practicable point near to Lewis Davidson's, and to pass
through the neighbourhood of Walter Sclby and to in-
tersect the turnpike road leading from Cumberland to
Hancock, at some point between Cumberland and the
farm of Michael C. Sprigg.

CHAP. 148.
to open &c.

SEC. 2. And. be it enacted, That the said road shall
not be located, opened and cleared out more than six-
teen feet wide, and not to pass through any yard, gar-
den, orchard, meadow or the lands of any person or
persons without their consent.

Restrictions

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That the said commis-
sioners shall cause a plot and certificate of said road to
be made out and returned to the commissioners of Al-
legany county, so that the road be placed on the list of
public roads in said county.

SEC 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall be null
and void unless the said road be located, opened, clear-
ed out and made passable for waggons at the cost and
charges of the petitioners and others, so that Allegany
county shall not have to pay any part thereof.

CHAPTER 148.


An act to repeal all that part of the Constitution and
Form of Government, as relates to the division of
Washington County into eight separate Election Dis-
tricts, and for other purposes.

1837.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That so much of the Constitution of this
State, as relates to the division of Washington county
into election districts, be, and the same is hereby al-
tered and amended, so far as to authorise the erection
of an additional district in said county, to be compos-
ed of parts of the third and seventh election districts.
