CHAP. 147.

CHAPTER 146.

A supplement to an act passed December session eighteen
hundred and thirty-three, chapter one hundred and
ten.

Part excluded

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland. That Pincy Neck school district shall be
separated by the main road leading from Queens town
to Kent Island, and that the part lying to the North of
said road, and the persons residing therein shall be
exempt from taxation, for the support of the school now
established in Pincy Keck, and be excluded from the
privileges of said school, in the same manner as if the
said part had never belonged to the said district.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That when the said main
road pusses through any tract of land, the whole of
said tract shall be considered as belonging to that side
on which the dwelling house stands, or if there be no
dwelling house, then on that side on which lies the
greater portion of said tract, and the person owning
the same shall be liable to or exempt from taxation, for
the support of the school now established, as the case
may be.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the operation of this
act shall commence with the year eighteen hundred
and thirty-seven, and that no part of it shall be con-
strued to extend to the imposition or collection of the
school tax of any previous year.


CHAPTER 147.

1837.

An act to authorise the laying out and opening a road
in Allegany county, therein mentioned.

Preamble

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, by the petition of sundry citizens of Allegany
county, that they labour under great inconvenience for
the want of a road to pass through the neighbourhood
of Walter Selby's, to commence on Williams' Location
at the most practicable point near Lewis Davidson's,
and to intersect the turnpike road leading from Cum-
berland to Hancock at some point between Cumberland
and Michael C. Sprigg's farm,— Therefore:
