1836.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That in case the said
levy court cannot make a contract or contracts, for re-
pair of the public roads in said county, or any part or
parts thereof, at such price or prices as they may deem
reasonable, the said levy county shall have power to
appoint supervisors to superintend the repair of such
roads or parts thereof as they cannot contract for, in
the manner now authorised by law.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all such part or parts
of previous acts as are inconsistent with this act, are
hereby repealed.

An act to authorise Henry C. Drury, of William, for-
mer Collector of Taxes in the first collection district
of Anne Arundel county, further time to complete his
collections.

1837.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Henry C. Drury, of William, former
collector of the first collection district of Anne Arun-
del county, be and he is hereby authorised and empow-
ered to collect any taxes or balances of taxes now re-
maining due to, and uncollected by him, in the district
aforesaid, in the same manner, and with the same
power and privileges as are allowed by the existing
laws in said cases made and provided.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the aforesaid Henry
C. Drury. of William, shall in every instance before
he may proceed to the aforesaid collection, make affi-
davit before some justice of the peace of said county,
that the same remain unpaid, and that he hath not re-
ceived any security or satisfaction for the same or any
part thereof, more than what credits may be allowed
thereon.

continue in force longer than one year, from the date
of the passage thereof.
