Of Taxes

immorality, within the limits of said corporation, and
shall have power to lay an ad valorem tax on the pro-
perty within the limits of said town, to such amount as
may from time to time he deemed necessary to accom-
plish the purposes aforesaid; provided, that said taxes
shall not exceed twenty five cents on every hundred
dollars worth of taxable property in any one year,
which tax shall be collected and paid to the said Bur-

gess and Commissioners by a collector by them appoin-
ted, who shall have the same power to destrain there-
for as the collector of the public county assessment,
has to destrain for taxes, and that the said Burgess and
Commissioners shall fix the term of office, responsibi-
lity and compensation of such collector.

Treasurer
Bond

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the said Burgess
shall be treasurer for the said corporation, and shall
give bond to said corporate body with security to be
approved by the commissioners or a majority of them
in such penalty as they shall fix, conditioned for the
faithful discharge of his duty as treasurer, and he shall
receive and pay away according to the ordinances to
be passed by the said commissioners or a majority of
them.

Boundaries

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That the said corporation
shall be contained in the following meets and bounds,
to wit: begining in the middle of the turnpike, east of
the town, and at a point south, nine degrees forty min-
utes east, of thirty feet distant from a stone on the
north side of the turnpike marked 82 M. to B. running
first, north nine degrees and forty minutes, west sixty
poles to a stone marked number two; second, south
eighty degrees twenty minutes, west parallel with the
lower end of the main street of clear spring, two hun-
dred poles, to a stone marked number three, thence
third, south nine degrees forty minutes, east one hun-
dred and fifty poles to a stone marked number four,
thence fourth, north eighty degrees twenty minutes
east, two hundred poles to a stone marked number five,
thence fifth, nine degrees forty minutes, west ninety
poles to the place of beginning.
