Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Register of the land office for the Western
Shore, be, and he is hereby authorised and directed to
issue to Mary Ellen Jones, and Edward Jones, infant
children of Lilias M. Jones, late of Charles county,
deceased, a patent for two hundred acres of land, ac-
cording to the certificate of survey, returned to said
land office, pursuant to resolution number forty-three,
of December Session, eighteen hundred and twenty-
seven.

An act to alter and change the name of John Thompson,
of St. Mary's County, to John Melmoth Thompson.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the name of John Thompson, of St. Mary's
county, be and it is hereby altered and changed to
John Melmoth Thompson; Provided, that nothing in
this act contained, shall be construed to release or ab-
solve the said John Thompson from any contracts, en-
gagements or liabilities which he hath entered into, or
in any manner so vary his present subsisting responsi-
bilities, or impair any rights which he hath now or
may hereafter acquire by the name of John Thompson.
