and Treasurer of said town; by adding eight new sec-
tions thereto to follow Section 2, to be known as Sec-
tions 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F, 2G and 2H, relating to the
same subject matter and also providing for the regis-
tration of voters and conduct of elections in said town
conferring certain powers upon registration and elec-
tion officers, providing penalties for violation of regis-
tration and election laws, vesting power and authority
in the Mayor and Common Council to determine the re-
sult of elections and continuing in office all persons who
may be affected by this Act.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That all that part of Section 4, Chapter 79, of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1908,
being the Charter of the town of Hyattsville, beginning
with the words, "The male citizens of said town, " in line
one thereof down to and including the words, "to which
the corporation is a party" in line thirty-two, and also
the whole of Section o, and the whole of Section 7, of said
Chapter 79, relating 10 the election and qualifications of
Mayor, Councilmen and Treasurer of the said town of
Hyattsville, be and they hereby are repealed.

SECTION 2. And be it further enacted, That said Chap-
ter 79 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1908, be and it, hereby is further amended by adding
thereto eight new sections to follow Section 2 of said
Chapter and be known as Sections 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F,
2G and 2H and to read as follows:

Section 2A. That the government of said town shall
be vested in a Mayor and six Councilmen, to be elected as
hereinafter provided for, who shall compose the common
council and they shall receive no compensation for their
services.

Section 2B. That the Mayor shall be elected from the
town at large and shall be elected for a term of one year,
Two of said Councilmen shall be elected from each of the
three wards of which the town is composed and each
Councilman shall be elected for a term of two years, ex-
cept in case of an election to fill a vacancy in that office,
when the election shall be for the unexpired term. The
Mayor and Councilmen shall hold their respective offices
