48 ~ Petition of John Pitt on behalf of kinsman, John Earles of Bristol, “now in slavery to the Turkes”, taken captive after leaving Bristol for America on 21 March; asks for contributions to pay ransom; petition given to the Grand Jury which recommends that 3 lbs/tbco per tythable be provided; Court approves. 48 ~ Petition of John Goldsmith to be non taxable; granted by Court provided Sheriff can find any concealed or other person not presently on the tax list.
48 ~ Note made in Court that Amos Parsons refused to obey summons for appearance in Court to answer the charge of John Mcknitt about Parson’s dog; Court orders Parsons appear next Court to answer for his contempt; be taken into custody until security posted for his appearance.
48 ~ Petition of Nicholas Cornewell asks Court to assess additional time on indenture of his servant Edward Hogg, runaway for 101 days; Hogg in court admits his runaways; petition granted; Cornewell will reduce the additional time by half if Hogg give good service.
