108 ~  Court convenes (at Dividing Creek); Commissioners present Francis Jenckins, Matthew Scarbrough, George Layfield, Thomas Newbold, Thomas Jones, John King.

108 ~  Petition of Matthew Scarbrough on behalf of Mrs. Comfort Scott, and her son Wrixam White; recalls order of the Court on 12 August 1693 requiring Robert Howard to relinquish estate due White and give an account of the livestock thereon; Howard has refused to comply; Scarbrough asks Court to intervene; James Round presents a memorandum dated 10 January 1695/6 attesting receipt of 14 head of cattle from Howard on 6 November last; Court orders Sheriff to take Howard into custody and have him post security to answer the charges.

109 ~  Elizabeth Cowin, Robert Prentice, Capt. William Coulbourne and wife Anne, James Gray and wife  Margarett sworn in and sent to Grand Jury to give testimony against John Tayler.

109 ~  Samuel Hopkins joins Court.

109 ~  Samuel Handy, Pltf. vs. Estate of Andrew Whittington for debt of 1000 lbs/tbco; Handy present a bill of debt signed 22 July by Whittington promising payment by 10 November following; witnesses Roger Burkum, Thomas Tull; attorney for estate admits debt; Court orders payment, with costs.

110 ~  William Noble, Sen. appeared as ordered preceeding day; ordered to perform one days work between Courthouse and his own house.

110 ~  James Round joins Court.

110 ~  Case against John Jenner; Mittimus signed 2 December 1695 by John Winder entered in record; directs Sheriff to take Jenner into custody from Thomas Cox and Henry Freakes who took him under Hue and Cry; to be held until January Court on charge of buggery; Jenner makes bond for £100 for his appearance at January Court at Dividing Creek; securities Thomas Cox, Stephen Costin.

110 ~  Case against Jane Jones for fornication and bearing a bastard; admits guilt and identifies John Fynch as the father; Court orders she give security and Fynch to appear in March Court; David Griffis posts bond for 800 lbs/tbco to pay fine and fees for Jones .

111 ~  Court adjourns briefly; reconvenes with Francis Jenckins, Matthew Scarbrough, George Layfield, Samuel Hopkins, James Round, Thomas Jones, John King.

111~  Grand Jury appears and gives their indictments (not specified) and are dismissed.

111 ~  Petition of Jeremiah Townsend that his bond for good behavior be dismissed; granted.

111 ~  George Layfield, Pltf. vs. Admn of Vincent Low, Deft. for execution of attachment made per Court judgement on 11 January 1695/6; garnishee, Major William Whittington, has possession of goods of Low valued at 3200 lbs/pork and 1200 lbs/tbco; Court orders condemnation.

111 ~  John Williams deed of gift dated 6 January 1695/6 recorded; dwelling plantation (unnamed) to pass to his grandsons, Isaac and John Williams, sons of his deceased son John; to be equally divided after his decease; daughter in law Jane Williams to have right to live on said land; witnesses John Henderson, William Timons, John Webb.

112 ~  Adam Heatch requests payment for 12 days attendance at Court; case of John Strawbridge vs. Andrew Whittington.

112 ~  Walter Tayler fined for not tending the highways, per indictment on f.74.

112 ~  Thomas Philips fined for not tending highways, per indictment on f.74.

112 ~  Robert Tyra presented for deliquency in tending highway, but remitted by Court. (See f.74)

112 ~ Case against Richard Davis and Sarah Dorman for cohabitation; Davis presents form proving marriage as a Quaker, attested by many evidences; charge quashed.
