John King, Stephen Horsey. 104 ~ Court orders building of 12’x15’ prison on the Courthouse lands; Maj. William Whittington to be allocated 2000 lbs/tbco from County levy for construction. (See Transcription) 104 ~ John Swain ordered to pay Maj. William Whittington 400 lbs/tbco towards the building of prison house. 104 ~ Ephraim Wilson ordered to pay Richard Tull 1400 lbs/tbco for feeding of workers on Courthouse. 104 ~ William Rorie, servant of Major Robert King, petitions Court for freedom; presents his indenture which Court considers; petition granted. 104 ~ Andrew Ramsey, servant of Thomas Dixon, petitions Court for his freedom; presents his indenture which Court considers; petition granted. 104 ~ Bond on John Meclester for £80 as guardian for James and Margarett Traine, orphans of James Traine; securities Richard Chambers and Thomas Smith; dated 4 December 1695; witnesses James Beauchannon, William Rorie. 105 ~ Inventory of goods and chattels provided by Magdalen Jenner to John Meclester as guardian for children of James Traine; appraised at £29/5/0 by Richard Chambers and James Beauchannon; incudes livestock and blacksmith’s tools. 105 ~ Levy completed; whole charge amounting to 116,215 lbs/tco; 1451 taxables assessed, 80 lbs/tbco per poll; 235 lbs remains due Sheriff. |
