ber of said Commission, directly or indirectly. Said Com-
missioners, including the President of the Commissioners of
St. Michaels aforesaid, shall within ten days after their ap-
pointment, organize by electing one of their number President
and also a Secretary and a Treasurer, either or both of the
last named may, or may not, be members of said Commission,
and the same person may hold both offices, and shall serve for
one year, or until the appointment and qualification of his or
their successor or successors.
The Commissioners of St. Michaels shall fix all salaries of
the members of said Electric Commission and of the Secretary
and Treasurer of the same.
Each member of the said Commission so appointed shall give
bond with approved corporate security in the sum of Five Hun-
dred Dollars ($500) for the faithful compliance with the
provisions of this Act, the cost of said bonds to be paid out of
the said St. Michaels Electric Commission's funds, each mem-
ber of said Commission (except the President aforesaid) to
take an oath of office such as is required of other officers of
said town of St. Michaels.
On or before the first day of July, 1916, the said Commis-
sioners of St. Michaels shall appoint the members of the St.
Michaels Electric Commission" qualified as aforesaid, to build,
construct, operate, manage and maintain said electric plant and
all appurtenances thereto belonging, said members to serve for
two, four and six years respectively, accounting from the first
day of July, 1916. They shall draw lots for the different
terms, the highest number to take the longest term and so on
down to the lowest. Their successors shall be appointed one
every two years each for a full term of six years during the
month of June. In the event of a vacancy by reason of death,
resignation, removal from office, or otherwise, said vacancy
shall be filled by the said Commissioners of St. Michaels for
the remainder of the term for which said Electric Commis-
sioner was appointed.
Said St. Michaels Electric Commission shall have full power
to contract in the name of the Commissioners of St. Michaels,
for all materials of every kind and all labor, skilled or un-
skilled, for building, maintaining and operating said electric
plant, to make all rules and regulations for the management
and operation thereof, including the fixing and revising of
rates, all of which powers and duties, however, to be subject to
the approval of the said Commissioners of St. Michaels afore-
said.
