quantity of two acres, for the purpose of a public park for the
use of the inhabitants of said town, and on which to erect any
necessary municipal building.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1916.

Approved March 21st, 1916.

CHAPTER 45.

AN ACT to authorize the President and Commissioners of
Chesapeake City, Maryland, to issue bonds to pay off the
present indebtedness of said town, growing out of a suit of
Mrs. Josephine Pryor and others, and to pay for improve-
ments hereafter to be made in and to the said town of
Chesapeake City at the direction of the said the President
and Commissioners of said town.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the President and Commissioners of Chesapeake
City be and they are, hereby authorized and empowered, in
their discretion to borrow on the credit of said town an amount
not to exceed Five Thousand Dollars ($5, 000. 00), and to
issue coupon bonds therefor, in sums not less than Five Hun-
dred Dollars ($500. 00) and not more than One Thousand
Dollars ($1, 000. 00) each to be signed by the President and coun-
tersigned by the Secretary of said President and Commissioners
of said Chesapeake City, with the seal of said President and
Commissioners of said town attached and to be registered, by
said Secretary in a book provided and kept for that purpose,
and that said bonds shall bear interest at a rate not exceeding
five per cent., payable semi-annually from the date of the issue
of said bonds, until said bonds are paid, and said bonds shall
forever be exempt from all taxation for County and Municipal
purposes and shall have printed on them a distinct reference
to the Act authorizing their issue, and the money arising from
the sale thereof shall be applied to the payment of the present
indebtedness of said town growing out of a suit of a certain
Josephine Pryor and other indebtedness of said town and to
the payment of improvements hereafter to be made in and to
said town at the direction of the said President and Com-
missioners.
