CHAPTER 43.
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Queen
Anne's County to pay to Joshua P. Chance an annual pen-
sion of Fifty ($50) Dollars, and to levy said amount on the
assessable property of said County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County
be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed t6
grant a pension of Fifty ($50) Dollars, annually to Joshua P.
Chance, who is 82 years old, and is now by reason of his ad-
vanced age and poor health incapacitated from earning a living;
said pension to be paid in quarterly installments of Twelve
Dollars and Fifty ($12. 50) Cents each during his natural life;
and the said County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County
are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to levy said sum
of Fifty ($50) Dollars, upon the assessable property of said
County, for the payment of said pension as herein provided.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 44.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 18
of Chapter 201 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, at its session of 1886, entitled "An Act to repeal
Chapter 519 of the Acts of 1884, entitled An Act to incor-
porate the town of Deer Park, in Garrett County, and to
re-enact the same with amendments. "
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 18 of Chapter 201 of the Acts of 1886, titled
Garrett County, sub-title, Deer Park, be and the same is here-
by repealed and re-enacted so as, to read as follows:
SEC. 18. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the
State of Maryland, That the Mayor and Common Council of
Deer Park, Garrett County, Maryland, be and it is hereby au-
thorized to purchase, receive by gift, donation or otherwise,
hold and enjoy, sue for and defend, a suitable piece of land
within the limits of said town of Deer Park, not exceeding the
