tract of land by Public Auction at the Court House in the
town of LaPlata, in Charles County, Maryland, after giving
at least twenty days' notice of the time and terms of sale in
at least two newspapers printed and published in Charles
County, Maryland, to the highest bidder or bidders for cash;
and upon payment of the purchase price, and not before, make
a report of sale to the Circuit Court for said Charles County,
Maryland, sitting in equity, which said Court is hereby au-
thorized to take jurisdiction of the manner of the said sale,
and upon ratification thereof by said Court after due notice of
its intention to do so by the usual order nisi, convey the same
to the purchaser or purchasers thereof in fee simple.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts of
Acts inconsistent, herewith are hereby repealed.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 8.
AN ACT to authorize the Board of County School Commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel County to borrow money on the
credit of Anne Arundel County to purchase a site and
erect, heat and furnish a public school building near Ship-
ley Station and Linthicum Heights, in Anne Arundel
County, Maryland, and appointing a building committee.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Seth H. Linthicum., Chairman; Raymond E. Town;
C. Hervey Pardee, Arthur Stallings and John Downs, be and
they are hereby constituted the Building Committee for the pur-
pose of purchasing a site and erecting, heating and furnishing a
public school building in the Fifth Election District of Anne
Arundel County, on the Old Annapolis Road between Shipley
Station and Linthicum Heights, or if a site is not available, at
said place, then at some point equally distant or as near so as
possible to Shipley Station and Linthicum Station. Three of
said Building Committee shall constitute a quorum for the
transaction of business; and all vacancies occurring in said
Building Committee either from death, resignation, refusal to
act or otherwise shall be filled by the Board of County School
Commissioners of Anne Arundel County.
