before the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Harford County the
oath or affirmation prescribed by the Sixth Section of the First
Article of the Constitution of this State, and shall subscribe his
name in the test book kept in the office of the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court for Harford County. The deputy game wardens so
appointed after taking the oath or affirmation and the signing
of the test book, taken as aforesaid, shall in said Harford County
possess and exercise the authority and powers held or exercised
by constables at common law and under the statutes of. this
State, and also all authority and powers conferred by law upon
policemen in Harford County, as far as arresting and prose-
cuting persons for violating any of the fish or game laws of this
State and County are concerned, and they are hereby vested
with the additional power to arrest without warrant and search
any person or persons suspected or known to be guilty of vio-
lating any of the provisions of the game and fish laws of this
State or of Harford County, and to forthwith take any and all
such persons before some Justice of the Peace of Harford
County, to be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of
the game and fish laws of this State or Harford County.

SEC. 44-L. The said Deputy Game Wardens shall when act-
ing in an official capacity, except when on detective duty, wear
in plain view a metallic shield with the words "Deputy Game
Warden" inscribed thereon, which said shield shall be fur-
nished to said deputy game wardens by the Chief Game War-
den of Harford County, who shall make provision for the same
from the funds in his hands, as provided for in this Act.

SEC. 44-M. Whenever the services of any deputy game war-
den shall be no longer required by the Chief Game Warden of
Harford County, the said Chief Game Warden of Harford
County shall give notice in writing to this effect to the said
deputy game warden and shall file a copy of same in the office
of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Harford County, which
notice shall be noted by the Clerk upon the margin of the record
where the signature of such deputy game warden is recorded,
and thereafter the power and authority of such deputy game
warden shall cease and determine, and a copy of such notice
shall be immediately served on such deputy game warden by
the Chief Game Warden of Harford County, and such service
shall be by registered letter through the United States mail, or
by the Sheriff of said County. And such deputy game warden
so removed as aforesaid shall forthwith upon service of said
copy return to the Chief Game Warden of Harford County the
