SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 294.

AN ACT providing for the payment to the State's Attorney of
Frederick County of his fees and compensation.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the State's Attorney for Frederick County
shall be paid his fees and compensation by the County Treas-
urer of Frederick County in semi-annual installments on the
first day of July and the first day of January of each and every
year.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts incon-
sistent herewith, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the County Commission-
ers for Frederick County, shall annually levy against the as-
sessable property in Frederick County, such sum or sums of
money as may be necessary to. carry out and effectuate the pur-
poses of this Act.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1916.

CHAPTER 295.

AN ACT to pay to the Board of County School Commissioners
of Calvert County a sum of money from the proceeds of the
State School Tax for the construction of a high school build-

ing.

WHEREAS, Calvert County has no approved high school re-
ceiving State aid, and

WHEREAS, It is the only county of the State which receives
no State appropriation for work of secondary grade, and
