2 of the Public Local Laws of 1888, entitled "Anne Arundel
County, '' and in the subsequent Acts of Assembly in force prior
to January 5th, 1916.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 272.

AN ACT to add a new section to be known as Section 1 3/4 to
Chapter 180 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of the year 1910, entitled. "An Act to create and estab-
lish a Public Service Commission and prescribing its powers
and duties and to provide for the regulation and control of
Public Service Corporations aid Public Utilities and mak-
ing appropriations therefor" as amended by Chapter 445
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1914,
and to repeal Section 122 of Chapter 471 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of the year 1868 as set
forth in Section 129 of Article 23 of the Code of Public
Civil Laws of Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new Section to be known as Section 1 3/4 be and
the same is hereby added to Chapter 180 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of the year 1910, entitled "Art
Act to create and establish a Public Service Commission and pre-
scribing its powers and duties and to provide for the regulation
and control of public service corporations and public utilities
and making appropriations therefor" as amended by Chapter
445 of the Acts of 1914, said new Section 1 3/4 to come in immedi-
ately after Section 1 1/2 of said Act as amended by Chapter 445
of the Acts of 1914 and to read as follows:

SEC. 1 3/4. The term Common Carrier when used in this Act
shall likewise include all bridges now or hereafter erected over
a stream or river dividing two counties in the State of Maryland
or between this State and another State by any corporation
authorized to charge and collect toll from persons using the
same as foot passengers and for vehicular traffic of every kind.
