give, transfer or in any manner switch, or offer or attempt to
barter, sell, give, transfer or in any manner switch to any per-
son, persons, company or association any part of any debit of
such company or any policies or contracts of such company
without the consent of said company first had in writing.
SEC. 164C. No person shall be excused from testifying or
from producing any books, papers, contracts, agreements or
documents at the trial or hearing of any person or company,
association or society charged with violating any provision of
this Act on the ground that such testimony or evidence may
tend to incriminate himself, but no person shall be prosecuted
for any act concerning which he shall be compelled so to testify
or produce evidence, documentary or otherwise, except for per-
jury committed in so testifying.
SEC. 164D. Any insurance company, association, or society,
agent, solicitor or broker, or any person, firm, association or
corporation, violating any provision of Sections 164A, 164B and
164C shall upon conviction be sentenced to pay a fine of not less
than One Hundred Dollars or more than Five Hundred Dollars
for each and every violation, or in the discretion of the court,
to an imprisonment for a period of not more than six months.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 255.
AN ACT to amend Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Public
Civil Laws of Maryland (legalized by Chapter 21 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1912), title
"Corporations, " sub-title "Insurance Department, " by re-
pealing and re-enacting with amendments Section 184 there-
of, as amended by Chapter 207 of the Acts of 1912, relat-
ing to tax on premiums, license fees and department fees
chargeable to insurance companies and by adding to said
Article five new and additional sections, to follow imme-
diately after said Section 184 and to be known as Sections
184A, " 184E, 184C, 184D and 184E, said new sections re-
lating to the licensing or registration of agents and solicitors
of all insurance companies operating in this State, provid-
