into effect any of the terms and conditions, not contrary
to the laws of this State, upon which any of the said endow-
ments, gifts, grants, devises or bequests may be given; and
that the provision in its charter limiting the yearly value of
all the estate to twenty-five thousand dollars, as provided in
Chapter three hundred and sixteen of the Acts of eighteen hun-
dred and thirty-five, incorporating the said association, be, and
the same is hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the President and Council
of Mount Saint Mary's College shall have power to confer on
its deserving students, adjudged worthy after due examination,
and on others, any degree or degrees, in any of the faculties,
arts, sciences and liberal professions, to which degree or degrees
persons are usually admitted in other colleges or universities
in America.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the President and Council
of Mount Saint Mary's College may elect, as said association
may determine, its president, vice-president and treasurer or
any of the officers for a longer term than one year.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That any provisions in the Act
of eighteen hundred and thirty-five, Chapter three hundred
and sixteen, incorporating the President and Council of Mount
Saint Mary's College, to which Act this Act is a supplement,
inconsistent or contrary to the rights and privileges hereby
granted in this Act, be and the same are hereby abrogated
and annulled, but all other provisions in the said Act incor-
porating the said association remain in full force and effect.

CHAPTER 249.
AN ACT to repeal Section 218-B, of Article 18 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Queen Anne's
County, " sub-title "Queenstown, " as enacted by Chapter
542 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at the January session in the year 1892, and to re-
enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 218-B of Article 18 of the Code of Public
