WHEREAS, It is contemplated that there will be created by
the January Session of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1916 a Board of Trustees of the Maryland State College of
Agriculture and also a State Board of Agriculture and,
WHEREAS, the Bills providing for the appointment of said
Boards are identical in language as to the method of appoint-
ment and term of membership of each of said Boards with the
intent that both of said Boards should be merged into one and
the same so that the persons appointed to the Board of Trus-
tees of the Maryland State College of Agriculture should also
be appointed to and compose the State Board of Agriculture;
therefore:
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the present and all future Governors of the
State of Maryland be and they are hereby required and di-
rected, to appoint the same persons to the State Board of Agri-
culture as are appointed to be the Board of Trustees of the
State College of Agriculture.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from and. after the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 226.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 198
of Chapter 140 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1896, and codified as Section 211 of Article 81
of the second volume of Bagby's Code of 1912.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 198 of Chapter 140 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland passed at its January Session
of 1896, and codified as Section 211 of Article 81 of the second
volume of Bagby's Code of 1912, be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments as follows:
Section 198 (of the Act) and 211 (of the Code). The pro-
visions of this article shall not apply to the shares of home-
stead or building associations incorporated under the laws of
the State to, the extent that such shares represent investments
in cash, fixtures, loans on hypothecated stock, judgments, de-
crees and mortgages on real or leasehold estate.
