SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on and from the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 228.
AN ACT to authorize the Board of County School Commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel County to erect and furnish an
addition or additions to the public school building in the
village of Curtis Bay, Anne Arundel County, Maryland,
and to provide for the heating of same.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That William S. Crisp, Chairman, Wm. G. Gischel, Dr.
Thomas B. Horten, Secretary, George C. Schimpf, Isaac D.
Wheaton, John P. Meyer, John P. Lerp, be and they are hereby
constituted a building committee for the purpose of erecting
and furnishing in said village of Curtis Bay, an addition, or
additions to the said public school building, four of whom shall
constitute a quorum, and the concurrence of four of them shall
be necessary for the decision of all questions which may arise
in the discharge of their duties; and all vacancies occurring in
said building committee, whether from death, resignation, re-
fusal to act or otherwise, shall be filled by the Board of County
School Commissioners of Anne Arundel County.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said building committee
shall, as speedily as possible, procure and adopt a plan and
specifications for the erection, of said addition or additions, and
as soon as plan and specifications are determined upon, said
building committee shall invite sealed proposals by advertise-
ment, for a reasonable time for the construction and completion
of said work, which proposal shall be sent in sealed envelopes
in care of the County School Superintendent of Anne Arundel
County, addressed to the Chairman of said building committee,
and shall be publicly opened on the day and at the hour named
in said advertisement and said proposals shall set forth the
