EMERSON C. HARRINGTON, GOVERNOR. 429

Iron Stone Badge at a point commonly known as Stump's Hill
in Frederick County, and by the said Act the County Commis-
sioners of Frederick County were authorized and empowered
to purchase from said Le Gore said Stone Arch Bridge and the
Roads leading thereto, also constructed by said Le Gore, for
the use of said County as fully and to the same extent as other
County Bridges and Public Roads are new held and owned by
said County; and,

WHEREAS, The said Le Gore has by the expenditure of large
sums of money and the application of years of time and labor,
well and commendably constructed and maintained said Stone
Arch Bridge and Roads leading thereto and the same have been
freely and generally used by the public for a number of years
past, for which the said Le Gore has not received any payment,
compensation or return whatsoever; and,

County has a claim upon the State for aid in the construction
of Roads and Bridges superior to that of the other Counties
of the State; and,

WHEREAS, The County Commissioners of Frederick County
and James W. Le Gore have entered into an agreement for the
purchase of said bridge and roads for the sum of Fifty Thou-

000. 00) and no more of which sum to be paid by Frederick
County and Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30, 000. 00) out of
Frederick County's apportionment or allotment of the appro-
