directing the said Board of County Commissioners to pay
over to the Treasurer of said village for disbursement for
any of the aforesaid purposes the money collected on ac-
count of the county road tax in the same amount and man-
ner now required by law to be paid to incorporated towns
in said County; also empowering the said Citizens' Com-
mittee, subject to the approval of the said Board of County
Commissioners, to assess the cost of certain special improve-
ments against the property abutting on streets, roads, lanes
and sidewalks for certain improvements; the collection of
such assessments and disbursement thereof for the benefit
of the residents of said village; also for the petitioning of
the resident property owners for the said special improve-
ments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That for the purposes of this Act the village of
Drummond. Montgomery County, Maryland, as hereinafter
described, shall constitute a special tax area or district and
shall be deemed and taken to comprise certain parcels of land,
namely: The subdivision in said Montgomery County called
"Drummond" as per plat No. 48 recorded in Plat Book No. 1,
one of the land records for said Montgomery County, and the
adjoining subdivision called "First Addition to Drummond"
as per plat 89 recorded in said Plat Book No. 1.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Board of
County Commissioners of Montgomery County are hereby
authorized, empowered and directed to levy and cause to be
collected from the property owners at the time of the county
tax levy for the year commencing July 1, 1916, and ending
June 30, 1917, and each succeeding year, within the said vil-
lage, known as Drummond, as named and created by this Act,
thirty-five cents on each one hundred (100) dollars of the
assessable value of the real and personal property in said vil-
lage, to be collected as all other county taxes in said county are
collected; to be paid over by said Board of County Commis-
sioners to the Treasurer of the Committee herein authorized to
be created, or his successors selected by the majority of the
members of said committee, upon said Treasurer having been
duly selected by a majority of said committee, and giving bond
to said Board of County Commissioners to be approved by the
Judge of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, in a penal
sum to be fixed by said Judge, conditioned upon the faithful
discharge of the duties of said Treasurer; the said Board of
