of the United States be, and they are hereby, requested to
support, and use all honorable means to secure the passage of
said bill.
No. 5.
Authorizing and directing The Board of Shellfish Commis-
sioners and the Commander of the State Oyster Navy, to
mark with buoys, the line between the waters of the State
of Maryland, and the waters of the State of Virginia (known
as The Black and Jenkins Line), in Pocomoke Sound and
Pocomoke River. And, requesting the co-operation of the
The Commission of Fisheries of Virginia.
WHEREAS, There is at present much difficulty in enforcing
the Laws of Maryland in Pocomoke Sound and River because
of no definite location of the boundary line between Maryland
and Virginia at this point.
AND WHEREAS, In order to conserve and police the oyster,
fishing: and crabbing interests of Pocomoke Sound to Mary-
landers engaged either directly or indirectly in the business of
taking, catching and selling the products of said sound and
river, and to secure convictions for the arrests of violators of
the Laws pertaining thereto.
Be It Therefore Resolved, That The Board of Shellfish
Commissioners of Maryland, and The Commander of The
State Oyster Navy of Maryland be, and the same are hereby
authorized and directed to mark and maintain with buoys
placed at intervals of not more than one mile apart the line
between the waters of the State of Maryland and the waters
of the State of Virginia from Cedar Straits in Pocomoke Sound
to Williams Point in Pocomoke River.
And Be It Further Resolved, That a copy of these resolu-
tions be sent to the Governor of Virginia and the Commis-
sioner of Fisheries of Virginia,
