months before the election for members of the House of Dele-
gates next happening after the passage of said Act, and that
it shall also be approved by a majority of all the members
elected to each House of the General Assembly at its next
session after said election.
AND WHEREAS, in compliance with said Section 54 of Arti-
cle III of the Constitution of Maryland, and in further com-
pliance with Section 11 of said Chapter 437 of the Acts of
1914, said Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, as em-
braced in said Chapter 437 of the Acts of 1914, was published
for two months in the newspapers published in said Calvert
County preceding the election of members of the House of
Delegates held on the 2nd day of November, 1915;
THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the said Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, as em-
braced in Cheaper 437 of the Acts of 1914, and as above set
forth, be and the same is hereby approved and ratified.

Requesting the Senators and Representatives from Maryland
in the Congress of the United States to support the Bill
(House of Representatives No. 10, 277) now pending in
Congress to authorize the President to appoint Colonel T,.
Mervin Maus to the grade of Brigadier General in the
United States Army and place him on the retired list.
WHEREAS, There is now pending in the Congress of the
United States House Bill No. 10277, to authorize the Presi-
dent to appoint Colonel L. Mervin Maus to the grade of
Brigadier General in the United States Army and place him
on the retired list;
WHEREAS, Colonel Maus is a native. of the State of Mary-
land and was appointed from this State to the medical corps
of the army, and in an active service of forty years therein
has rendered distinguished service as a surgeon and a soldier,
and desires the promotion which the bill above referred to pro-
poses to confer upon him; therefore be it
