vised Charter of 1915, and to be known as Section 164-C, and to
read as follows:
'' Any notice required, by Section 164-A or by any other law, to
be given by the Appeal Tax Court shall be deemed prima facie
to be served if the same is deposited in the mail (and is not re-
turned as undelivered) under cover with the return address of
the Appeal Tax Court on the outside, and directed to the place
of residence of the person to be notified, or to the address of
such person as it appears in the last published Baltimore City
Directory, or if not contained in such Directory then to the ad-
dress of the property (if real estate) regarding which such
notice is sent, for delivery to the occupant thereof; and the
Appeal Tax Court shall, for the purpose of preserving a record
of the service of notices by mail, note in a book the date of
placing in the mail the envelope or cover containing such
notice. ''

CHAPTER 711.
AN ACT to add a new Section to Article 13 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland; title "Harford County; "
providing the amount of compensation the bailiff to the
Grand Jury of the Circuit Court for Harford County shall
receive, and the amounts each of the other bailiffs of said
Court shall receive, the same to be in lieu of the per diem
provided in Section 11 of Article 36 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Bailiff to the Grand Jury of the Circuit
Court for Harford County shall receive the sum of thirty
dollars ($30. 00) for each term of said Court which he attends,
and to which a jury is summoned; and the other bailiffs of
said Court shall each receive the sum of three dollars for every
day they shall attend said Court; the above compensation to be
in lieu of the compensation provided for in Section 11 of Arti-
