they are hereby authorized and directed to levy, in addition to
the tax provided for in said Act, a tax or taxes on the taxable
property within said special taxing area, as may be recom-
mended by said Chevy Chase Citizens' Committee, not exceed-
ing in all, in any one year, ten cents on the One Hundred Dol-
lars of the taxable property therein; or said Citizens' Com-
mittee may pay said encumbrance as aforesaid, and the pur-
chase price for the balance of said Block 37 aforesaid, out of
the money or moneys derived from assessments on said taxable
property for the upkeep of said village, if in the judgment of
said Citizens' Committee the same can be done without detriment
thereto; which taxes, if so levied for the purposes in this Act
provided, the treasurer of said county be and he is hereby au-
thorized and directed to collect, as other taxes are collected
and pay the same over to the treasurer of Chevy Chase, as other
moneys are directed by said Act to be paid by him.

CHAPTER 698.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 99 to 104 (both inclusive) of Arti-
cle 48, as the same are numbered and set forth in the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, as legalized by Chapter 16, of the
Acts of 1914, of the General Assembly of Maryland, title
"Inspection, " sub-title "Seed, " and to re-enact the same with
amendments, and to add seven new Sections to said Article
48, of said Annotated Code of Maryland to follow imme-
diately after Section 104 of said Article 48 and to be num-
bered respectively 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110 and 111,
providing for the regulation of the selling, offering or ex-
posing for sale of agricultural seeds within the State of
Maryland, and for an examination of seeds sold in the State
of Maryland, and for determining their purity, and for re-
quiring labeling, and providing penalties for failure to com-
ply with the terms and conditions imposed by this Act.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 99 to 104 (both inclusive) of Article 48, as
the same are numbered and set forth in the Annotated Code of
Maryland, as legalized by Chapter 16 of the Acts of 1914, title
"Inspection, " sub-title "Seed, " be and the same are hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted with amendments and that nine new Sec-
tions be added to said Article 48, of said Annotated Code of
