said Board shall advertise for bids by responsible persons, for
the addition or erection of said buildings or any of them, and
let the contract or contracts for them or any of them to the
lowest responsible bidder, as said Board may determine, upon
such bidder or bidders giving bond with surety to be approved
by said School Board, conditioned for the faithful performance
of said contract or contracts, said Board reserving the right to
reject any and all bids.

Said Board of County School Commissioners are authorized,
but not required, to employ an architect to prepare plans for
such structures, and to pay said architect out of the moneys
hereby appropriated, from the appropriations made for the
structures for which such plans are adopted, in proportion to
the amounts of such appropriations.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That the Board of County
Commissioners of said County be and they are hereby author-
ized to pay to the order of the Board of County School Com-
missioners of said County such sum or sums of money, not ex-
ceeding fifty-eight thousand dollars, as may be needed for the
purchase of land and the extension or addition to and the erec-
tion of such buildings and the equipment thereof of the struc-
tures so authorized in the town of Rockville, Kensington and
Chevy Chase, as aforesaid; said money hereby appropriated to
be applied to said buildings, lands and equipment as follows:
For the addition to the County High School in Rockville, and
its equipment or partial equipment as aforesaid, fifteen thou-
sand dollars; for the erection of a public school building of
brick at Kensington, including the cost of the ground and
equipment thereof, as aforesaid, and in addition to the amount
so to be derived from the sale or exchange of the present build-
ings and grounds as aforesaid, the sum of eighteen thousand
dollars; for the public school building of brick at said Chevy
Chase, including the cost of a suitable site and for the erection
thereon and equipment of such building, twenty-five thousand
dollars.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That for the purposes
aforesaid the Board of County Commissioners of said County
be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
borrow, not exceeding fifty-eight thousand dollars, and to issue,
bonds therefor in such denominations as said County Commis-
sioners may deem expedient, maturing at the rate of two thou-
sand dollars per annum from the date of issue. Said bonds to
