as for all its Railroad purposes, and to possess the same
powers and privileges, and be subject to the same restric-
tions and limitations granted to and imposed upon Railroad
Companies incorporated under the General Corporation
Laws of this State.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That, The Cumberland Valley Railroad Company,
formerly called the Franklin Railroad Company, shall have
the right and power to locate, construct and operate, in con-
junction with and in addition to, its present railroad, a cut-off
or lateral railroad, with a single or double track with such side
tracks, turnouts, yards, offices, depots and other appurtenances
or works, as it may deem necessary, from any point on its
main line in Washington County, Maryland, to a point on its
main line at or near the Potomac River at Powell's Bend in
said Washington County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said The Cum-
berland Valley Railroad Company shall have the same rights
and powers that railroads incorporated under the General Cor-
poration Laws of this State have to locate, construct and oper-
ate branches from its main line.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That for the said pur-
pose of exercising any of the rights and powers herein con-
tained, as well as for all its railroad purposes, the said The
Cumberland Valley Railroad Company shall have the right,
power and privilege to enter upon, take and appropriate lands
and materials to the same extent and in the same manner as
railroad corporations incorporated under the General Corpora-
tion Laws of this State are now or may be hereafter empow-
ered to do and, shall be possessed of the same powers and privi-
leges and be subject to the same restrictions and limitations as
are now or may be hereafter imposed upon said railroad cor-
porations.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is not in-
tended and shall not be taken to relieve the said The Cumber-
land Valley Railroad Company from any of the provisions of
the Public Service Commission law, as the same is enacted by
Chapter 180 of the laws of Maryland of 1910, or any supple-
ments or amendments thereto which have heretofore or may
hereafter be made.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1916.
